Welcome to web site of Network of Excellence „Production Processes” - ProNet. You are invited to use the service to get familiar with goals and tasks of the network, rules of cooperation and receiving new partners, as well as with network partners and news.
Centre for Advanced Manufacturing Technologies (CAMT) was established in 1994 in the Institute of Production Engineering and Automation at Wrocław University of Technology. Presently, the centre employs 40 scientists, including 4 professors, 10 doctors and as many as 20 PhD students.
CAMT concentrates on research, training and technology transfer, in the scope of modern production. The research area includes the whole product development cycle, beginning with the very concept of the product and its designs, throughout its prototyping, till production planning and automation. Technology transfer concerns mainly the integration of varied software and hardware solutions in industry. CAMT is acknowledged as a leading research centre and a technology provider in Poland. Foreign cooperation is a very important activity area for our Institute. The partnership is performed through over 30 active links with other European research institutions.
The Centre and its Laboratory staff have been praised with numerous international certificates, e.g. ISO/TÜV "Authorised AutoCAD Training Centre", "PROFIBUS Competence Centre", or "SUN Technologies Centre." CAMT is financed by industrial projects (ABB, ADTranz, BOSCH, de Laval, Sauer Danfoss), national and international projects (Leonardo da Vinci, Eureka, 5FP) and by the State Committee for Scientific Research.
Presently, there are the following activities being conducted at the Centre in six thematic fields: Machine Tools, Assembly and Robotics, Design Tools and Cax, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Automation.
System for simulation of manufacturing processes flow in a company
The goal of the project is development of a multi-functional IT system for simulation of production processes flow. The system is devoted to analyse and evaluation of planned and realized manufacturing processes in small and medium-sized enterprises, which because of lack of necessary finances and organizational structures cannot afford large MRP II and PPC systems.
Adaptable Machine Tools Control System - ASiM
At CAMT a project is in phase of realisation, which goal is development of a detailed idea and building a model of an open adaptable system for control of technological machines - ASiM. The system, which will be elaborated, should be characterised by: - decentralised modular structure, which enables easy adaptability and reuse of system components, - an open software structure, where object oriented techniques are applied, - an open communication structure (possibility to connect with other systems), - low price of the system.
System of building modular machine-tools with parallel kinematics
Machine-tools with parallel kinematics arouse big interest of research centres and machine-tools manufacturers. Advantages of applying closed kinematic chain encourage to build such machines. In the project a conception of designing of milling machines with such kinematics was developed. Designing and building a prototype of machine-tool tested the conception. Project included: specification of the machine-tool user requirements, developing of parallel kinematic which meets this requirements, machine designing and building, developing and implementation of control system, initial operations tests.
